Making of Relic

I want to show a relic. A space ship and the old palace was put together make me feel uncoordinated but fantasy.

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my second tutorial called”Relic”.In this tutorial, I will describe the creative process of this picture to you. Hope that this tutorial can do some help to you.

Step 1

The first step,to paint a black and white draft. you must have an idea in your mind and restore your mind step by step.

STEP 2

Determined the composition probably. Emphasizes once more. You mustpay more attention to the processing depth of field, things which are far away, should have weaker contrast and light, and things which are nearby have stronger contrast and shade, so as to reflect the sense of space. The contrast of light and shade is important in drawing.

STEP 3

After determined the composition. You need to make certain the various elements of the picture step by step. Especially the shape of the spaceship.because there is the center point of this picture.

STEP 4

Make certain the shape of the spaceship further .here you need to open your mind, and don’t fall into details.

STEP 5

Then start drawing color, create a new layer, attributes to “soft.” Brush with soft edges used to draw. press the light to spread a ballpark, and then use the eraser tool to adjust. yellow, purple and dark green is my favorite color and I take it to the light, transition area and dark cave.

STEP 6

Take color to the water and beginning to draw the local details of the spaceship. It was not only need your fantasy idea but also need to find some brief about machine. That wiil help you to create a amazing spaceship.

STEP 7

Draw details of the spaceship further. because I need to keep this area delve into highest level.

STEP 8

Now I need to make certain everything’s shape of the old palace. Like pillar, ceiling and the stone.
Adjust the light and draw the spaceship’s shadow on the water. I am making the atmosphere look real.

STEP 9

The close range is a Little dim. So I create a new layer with brightness/contrast and ajust it to look more better.

STEP 10

Draw the details step by step and don’t fall into one local detail.

STEP 11

Draw the local details of the pillar and the falling water on the left. this area is on the front of this picture,so must pay more time to draw . Keep it in the dark area and dont make it too outstanding.

STEP 12

Draw the local details of the close stone near the water. And here I try to add some people to show like a story and the people could Set off the huge of the spaceship.

STEP 13

I used a piece of the rock texture mapping, image – adjust – decolorize, using the “overlay” mode.
base on the texture and the stone’s shape, keep drawing details until you think the texture has mixed well with your picture.

STEP 14

Like step-13.used a texture and keep drawing details until you think the texture has mixed well with your picture.

STEP 15

Finally I create a “color balance layer” to modify the dark part of the picture to reddish and purplish and the bright part to yellowish. Use the eraser tool to adjust until get a perfect result.
In summarize, first step was determine the composition with black and white draft. Next was drawing color, create a new layer, attributes to “soft.” Brush with soft edges used to draw. And make certain the shape of everything. Draw the local details use texture and make it mixed good with your picture. And finally adjust your works. Thank you for your reading and I hope my tutorial wiil do some help to you.
